Formed in Brisbane in 2011, Dune Rats are the result of two stoner pals, Danny Beausa and BC Michaels, embracing lunkheaded punk. Their self-titled debut dropped in 2014, followed by 2017’s The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit, produced by FIDLAR’s Zac Carper. 2020’s Hurry Up and Wait claimed Aussie charts’ top spot and earned an ARIA nod. Amid the pandemic, they retreated to Eden, NSW, creating rowdy fun instead of introspection. Result? Real Rare Whale, their BMG-distributed Ratbag release on July 29, 2022.
